"8 Things to do During Winter Break"

I hope everyone is having the best winter break ever! I am currently home aka Panama and I too happy and grateful for being able to spend some quality time with my family.

But, I have this small problem in which I can't stop myself from being productive and getting out of the "I have so much to do" mindset even though the semester is over. I usually find myself in front of my laptop (doing nothing) instead of just relaxing.

If you are like me or have a variant of this problem present in your life here I bring you 8 things you can do during winter break to keep yourself productive, investing on yourself, and having some fun!

Hopefully I am not the only one with this problem, but I find myself thinking stuff to do. It is really hard for me to get out of the "Let's tackle 1000 tasks" after the semester ends. Even though you definitely should spend some time doing nothing and recovering from the long, extenuating semester, it is not a bad idea to invest some time working on yourself and preparing for Spring semester.

Reflect on what you did last semester
Now that you have had, at least, one semester of college experience, you can make a successful plan for next semester.

Is there anything that you can improve? Maybe getting a tutor, dedicating more hours to homework, or even partying a little less...No shame on the last one. I stopped partying everyday two semesters ago and my GPA didn't only go up but I got to build true friendships and my relationship with my amazing boyfriend got stronger.

I have recently published a couple tips on "Battling Test Anxiety" and "What to do when 'You are not feeling like it'". Make sure to check those because they are two of my most popular posts!

Apply for Summer Internships
Summer internships are pretty desiredXXX. Starting to search and fill up applications for Summer will not only give you the lead, but it will also give you a stress-free Spring semester.

Applying during your break will not only give you the lead, but it will also give you a stress-free Spring semester. No need to be studying for midterms and filling out internships applications. Start early!

Get back into Working Out
If you are like me aka a nerd, you totally and completely stop your life during finals. I literally stop working out, binge watching, and going out; I spend most of y time in the library focused on studying.

Winter break is the perfect time to reboot your workout routine (or start a new fitness regime). I had been using this break to plan my new routine for next semester, so stay tuned for some new workout routines!

In the meantime, check out my other two workout routines:

Go out with friends back home
If you live a couple miles away from college, huge probability is that you are not going to spend as much time as you are used to with your friends. Take this advice from me, I am a 5 hours flight away from home. Make the most of the time with them because you are going to miss them! So, go out and make beautiful memories.

Pro Tip: Take a looot of amazing pictures that you can hang in your room later.

Buy cute decor and essentials for your dorm/apartment
Talking about decor... I am moving to a new apartment this semester and omg I am so excited! Am I the only one who loves moving?

I had been spending way too much time looking for decor and DIY ideas on Pinterest for my apartment. Also, I had been buying kitchen and baking stuff. One of my goals for next semester is to cook more and bake cakes and pies for my friends, amazing boyfriend, and me.

Enjoy the time with your family
We all miss our family and if you are like me and my mom, you feel like part of your is missing. My mom and I are besties, kinda corny right? But we actually share everything, from silly jokes to boys talk, and we have so much fun together!

Also, as a typical Latin-American family, we are pretty close and we spend all the Holidays, vacations, birthdays... all together. And with all I mean all my aunts, uncles, cousins... I love them all and I miss them so much when I'm away.

Pro Tip: Go out to your favorite pizza places, coffee shops, and other fun places with your friends.

Read some books
I got a mini library in my apartment back in college and half of the books there are books I have started but never finished. So, I made a goal for this break to read at least 5 of those books. I am already on my third book and I had loved the last two.

After my American Literature class last semester, I had been pretty interested in classics. You can't go wrong with them, they are classics for a reason... I just finished reading "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway  my amazing boyfriend recommended it and omg I loved it! Other books I want to read are "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald and "" by .

Make some goals for the new semester + Invest on yourself
I don't really like doing New Year's resolutions, I prefer dividing my year per semester and making goals for each of them. It is not only an easier way of focusing on each of your classes.

Another thing that you MUST do during break is relax. Give yourself sometime to recover from all the stress from last semester and omg you deserve it! If you can't come up with ideas on how to improve yourself, make sure to check out my blog post on "How to Invest on Yourself" and "How to be a Lot Happier"
